Guruji was son of the great lyricist & writer Sri Sorat Ashwath. He was working as a professor in Commerce in Vijaya College, Bangalore. He has authored 14 text books for P.U.C and B.Com degree (including 6 books in Kannada medium). He produced video cassettes for S.S.L.C students in the year 1996. He was honoured as "Vaasthu Shastra Thagna" by Sri Sri Vidyatheertha Prasanna Swamiji of Kukke Subrahmanya Kshetra. He has received "Aryabhata Award" in the year 1999 for education. In 2000, he received the gold medal from Dr.Sri Veerendra Hegde of Dharmasthala for the book " Vasthu and Astrology". He received the "Ugadi Puraskar 2001" award from Madras Telugu Academy for all round achievements in the field of education, Vasthu and Astrology. He was also awarded the "Kempegowda Prashasthi" by Bangalore Mahanagara Palike in 2001, "Aryabhata" award in 2002 for "Vasthu", "D.V.G. Vedhike Award" for literature, "Rajyabhushana" award in 2009, Kempegowda prashasthi in 2013, GanaYogi Panchakshari Gawayi Award in 2015 and several other awards and acoolades.
On June 20th 2004, Shri Mukthi Naga idol prathisthapana was done and he took over as dharmadhikari. It was in the year 1995 that he was blessed by Lord Subrahmanya in Kukke Subrahmanya.
Dr. Gowri Subrahmanya Shastry is the dharmadarshi of Shri Mukthi Naga Kshetra. She is also popularly called as Gowri amma. She is the co-founder of this kshetra and has strived hard together with Shri. Daivagna Subramanya shastry to develop this place. She is a practicing Ayurveda doctor by inheritance. She has been guiding the people on how to treat themselves with simple home-made remedies without having to spend lot of money. She is also an astrologer. She has been giving TV shows in the popular channels on Astrology and Ayurveda. Her simplified way of explaining, simple remedies and several testimonials have made her so popular although she has been doing this for several years now. She has conducted several free medical camps and is also available for consultations at the temple. She takes care of the administration of this kshetra and is also serving as dharmadarshi here.
Shri Mukthi Naga Kshetra has long been home to the Serpent Deity. For the past 200 years, the residents of this region have been referring to this place as “Junjappana Bayalu” (Junjappa’s Field). In accordance with Lord Subrahmanya’s divine will, the construction of the Mukthi Naga Temple is being carried out at this place. This place, which is a veritable abode of serpents, is a heaven of peace and serenity to all who come here. Temple is situated at Ramohalli, 18 kilometers from the Bangalore bus stand. It is located 5 kilometers from the Bangalore-Mysore road, after one passes Kengeri, on the way to the Big Banyan Tree. One kilometer from the Ramohalli bus stand is the place where the place where Mukthi Naga Temple is present.
